Aspen Suites Hotel Downtown Anchorage is getting ready to open, and we are building our Housekeeping Team! Houseperson


Position Purpose:

The Houseperson ensures all public areas of the hotel are clean, sanitized, and professionally maintained. This role directly supports Room Attendants by providing linens, restocking supplies, removing trash, and assisting with general guest room cleaning when needed. The Houseperson is key in keeping the hotel running smoothly for guests and staff alike.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Clean and maintain public spaces including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and guest-facing areas
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, scrubbing, and floor care as needed
  • Assist in scheduled deep-cleaning of guest rooms and suites
  • Remove trash and transport linens or supplies between designated areas
  • Maintain housekeeping stock rooms, supply closets, and equipment inventory
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to leadership
  • Ensure cleanliness standards align with hotel and brand expectations

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Offer general hotel or local information to guests when asked
  • Provide assistance to Room Attendants and team members as needed

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

  • Ability to arrive at work on time and when scheduled. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to push/pull housekeeping carts and move up to large linen bags/items
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop, brooms, bottles, etc.)
  • Must follow safety procedures and respond appropriately during emergencies
  • Willingness to learn and uphold cleanliness and brand standards


NOTICE: 

The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
